Japanese-British singer-songwriter Rina Sawayama (リナ・サワヤマ, born 16 August 1990) is also an actress and model. She was born in Niigata, Japan, and relocated to London with her family at the age of five. Recognized for her diverse musical style, she has been described as a "musical chameleon." In 2017, she independently released her first extended play titled Rina. Following her signing with Dirty Hit in 2020, she launched her debut studio album Sawayama, which received positive reviews from critics. Her sophomore studio album Hold the Girl debuted on 16 September 2022. In addition to her music endeavors, Sawayama has participated in various fashion advertising campaigns and is preparing for her film acting debut in John Wick: Chapter 4.
