American singer-songwriter Holly Brook Hafermann, known professionally as Skylar Grey, was born on February 23, 1986, in Mazomanie, Wisconsin. At the age of 17 in 2004, she entered into a publishing agreement with Universal Music Publishing Group and secured a recording contract with Machine Shop Recordings, which is affiliated with Linkin Park. Her debut album titled Like Blood Like Honey was released in 2006 under these labels.
