English model and actress Veronica Carlson (born 18 September 1944 in Yorkshire, England) is recognized for her performances in Hammer horror films.
Originally named Veronica Mary Glazer, she spent a significant portion of her early years in Germany due to her father's military service. She completed her education at Thetford Girls' School and subsequently attended High Wycombe College of Art and Technology, where she focused on art and took part in student theater productions. In her twenties, she appeared in several minor roles across film and television.
James Carreras, head of Hammer Films, discovered one of her images featured in a newspaper and extended an offer for a part alongside Christopher Lee in Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (1968). Following this role, she featured in two additional Hammer Horror films: Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969) and The Horror of Frankenstein (1970). Her television appearances include the Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) episode "The Ghost Who Saved the Bank at Monte Carlo" from 1969, as well as an installment of The Saint titled "The Man who Gambled with Life," featuring Roger Moore. She also appeared in Department S's episode "The Double Death of Charlie Crippen." Carlson was among the four lead characters in the thriller series Spyder's Web (1972), sharing screen time with Anthony Ainley, Roger Lloyd-Pack, and Patricia Cutts.
After getting married and relocating to the United States, Veronica Carlson entered semi-retirement. She currently resides in South Carolina with her spouse and three children while pursuing painting professionally.
