Nepalese-German singer Zascha Moktan (Nepali: ज़स्चा मोक्तान; born 23 December 1981) is a vocalist, pianist, and guitarist.

Zascha Moktan is known for her contributions to soul music as a singer, pianist, and guitarist. She relocated to Germany at the age of six after being born to a father from Nepal and a mother from Germany. Her journey included moving through India and London — where she began her musical endeavors in a gospel choir — before settling in Frankfurt and later Berlin. At eight years old, she commenced piano lessons and subsequently joined her school choir, completing classical music training. In the mid-1990s, Moktan established a band with friends in Frankfurt that initially focused on punk and rock genres. In 2000, she took part in a song competition where she was recognized as Best Hessian Newcomer Band. During another contest, Nigel Kennedy discovered her talent and invited her to perform alongside him.

In November 2003, Moktan appeared as an opening act for Craig David during his tour in Germany. By 2005, she toured across the U.S. alongside Alicia Keys and John Legend which caused her to pause hair stylist training that had recently begun in Hamburg. Upon returning home, she secured her first recording contract with Universal Music Group in 2006 after facing feedback that her sound was too Americanized for German audiences. Following success abroad, she released her debut single “Ouch!” on 9 November 2007. In September of the same year, Munich radio station Bayern 3 honored her as Newcomer of the Month while also featuring at the New Pop Festival held in Baden-Baden.

Moktan’s second single “Like U Do” debuted on 14 March 2008 along with her first album titled The Bottom Line.

Her musical style incorporates elements from soul, funk, jazz, blues, and gospel.
