Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi (Mandarin pronunciation: [К€НЎК‚Й‘МЃЕ‹ tНњsЙЁМЂЗђ], Chinese: з« е­ђжЂЎ; born 9 February 1979) is recognized as one of the Four Dan Actresses in China.

Her significant debut came with The Road Home (1999). She gained widespread attention for her performance in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), where she was honored with the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female and received a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
