Constance Elaine Britton (born Womack on March 6, 1967) is an American actress, producer, and singer. Britton initiated her film career with a role in the independent comedy-drama The Brothers McMullen (1995), and the subsequent year, she joined the cast of Nikki Faber on ABC's sitcom Spin City. She later appeared in two short-lived comedies: The Fighting Fitzgeralds (2001) and Lost at Home (2003), along with performances in various films including the sports drama Friday Night Lights (2004) and the thriller The Last Winter (2006). From 2006 to 2011, Britton portrayed Tami Taylor on NBC/DirecTV's drama series Friday Night Lights. Her performance garnered favorable critiques from reviewers, leading to nominations for two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. In 2011, she took on the role of Vivien Harmon during the inaugural season of FX’s horror-drama series American Horror Story, earning another nomination for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie. She returned to this character during the eighth season titled Apocalypse. From 2012 to 2018, Britton played country artist Rayna Jaymes on ABC/CMT’s musical drama Nashville, which earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series as well as a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress – Television Series Drama.In 2016, she featured as socialite Faye Resnick throughout Season One of FX's true crime anthology American Crime Story.
