English actress Gemma Bissix (born 6 June 1983) has been performing since she was nine years old. Her most recognized performances include her portrayal of Clare Bates in EastEnders (1993–1998, 2008) and Clare Devine in Hollyoaks (2006–2007, 2009, 2013), for which she received two British Soap Awards. In addition to her work in soap operas, Bissix has featured in a variety of television shows and took part in the 2009 season of Dancing on Ice. She has also participated in several pantomime productions. On February 5, 2013, it was announced that Bissix would return to her role as the antagonist Clare Devine, with her last appearance airing on October 16, 2013, following the character's demise.
