Canadian actress Jewel Belair Staite (born June 2, 1982) has gained recognition for her performance as Kaylee Frye in the FOX series Firefly (2002–03) and its subsequent film Serenity (2005). She also portrayed Dr. Jennifer Keller on the Sci-Fi Channel's series Stargate Atlantis (2007–09). In her early career, Staite played Catalina in Space Cases (1996) and "Becca" Fisher in Flash Forward (1996–97). More recently, she appeared as Raquel Westbrook in the Canadian drama The L.A. Complex (2012) and Caroline Swift in AMC's crime series The Killing (2013–14).
