German singer-songwriter Julia Neigel (born April 19, 1966, in Barnaul, Siberia, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union) is also an author and producer. Her family relocated to Germany in 1971. She currently resides in Ludwigshafen am Rhein within Rhineland-Palatinate.

Neigel started her singing career at the age of 14, with her debut album released when she turned 22 after initially exploring classical music. Her musical style blends soul and R&B elements with pop rock influences. She possesses a vocal range exceeding four octaves.

Her first live performance took place in 1982. In 1986, she became a member of The Stealers, which later evolved into Jule Neigel & Band and subsequently Jule Neigel Band—under which name she issued several albums during the nineties. One of her early hits, "Schatten an der Wand," reached #30 on the German charts during the summer of 1988. Her self-titled debut album was produced by Ralf Zang—known for his work with Chaka Khan—and released later that same year. By the late nineties, five additional studio albums had been launched.

Following a break spanning several years, she returned with a live album titled "Stimme mit Flügeln" in 2006 and has since performed using her birth name rather than under Jule Neigel Band branding. In 2011, she introduced Neigelneu as her first studio recording after more than ten years; its title plays on the German phrase 'nagelneu' meaning 'brand new'.

Throughout her career, Neigel has worked alongside various artists including Simon Phillips, Paco de Lucía, Helmut Zerlett, Udo Lindenberg, Peter Maffay, and Edo Zanki while also supporting acts like Status Quo, Toto, Rickie Lee Jones and Ronan Keating.
