American singer and songwriter Julia Carin Cavazos, known professionally as Julia Michaels, was born on November 13, 1993, in Davenport, Iowa. She started her career in music during her teenage years and subsequently began creating songs for various prominent artists, primarily for Selena Gomez but also including Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony, Hailee Steinfeld, and Gwen Stefani. Michaels became affiliated with Republic Records and launched her debut solo single in 2017 titled "Issues," which reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States and received triple-platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
