American soccer player Julie Beth Ertz (née Johnston; born April 6, 1992) competes for Angel City FC in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and is also a member of the United States women's national soccer team. She made her debut with the national squad during an international friendly match against Scotland on February 9, 2013. Since then, she has accumulated over 100 appearances for the team.

Ertz played college soccer at Santa Clara University as part of the Broncos from 2010 to 2013. After completing her collegiate tenure, she was chosen third overall by the Chicago Red Stars in the NWSL College Draft held on January 17, 2014. Ertz contributed to the United States' victories at both the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup tournaments. At age 23, she was among the youngest players on the winning squad in 2015, following only Morgan Brian who was aged 22. The U.S. team reached the World Cup final where Ertz participated fully throughout all seven matches and earned a spot on the FIFA Women's World Cup All-Star Team.

In 2017, after transitioning to center midfield for both club and country, Ertz received recognition as U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year.

She received another nomination for U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year in 2018 and secured this title again in 2019.
