German singer Juliette Schoppmann gained attention as the second-place contestant on the inaugural season of Deutschland sucht den SuperStar, the German adaptation of American Idol.

Schoppmann entered into a contract with BMG; however, contrary to public anticipation, she opted not to collaborate with Dieter Bohlen. This decision was later addressed during her appearance on another program, Das Supertalent. Instead, Schoppmann released three independent singles—two of which reached the Top 10—and a solo album that launched in 2004.
