German biathlete Martina Beck, originally named Martina Glagow, was born on 21 September 1979 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, West Germany. Currently residing in Mittenwald, Bavaria, she experienced her peak performance during the 2002–03 season when she became the first German athlete to secure the women's overall title in the Biathlon World Cup. Additionally, she has achieved three world championship titles and earned silver medals at two Olympic Games. On 24 July 2008, she married fellow Austrian biathlete Günther Beck and is now referred to as Martina Beck. The couple has a daughter named Hilde, who was born on 1 April 2011.
