Australian individual Schapelle Leigh Corby (born 10 July 1977) was found guilty of drug smuggling in Indonesia. She spent nine years incarcerated at Kerobokan Prison on the island of Bali. Following her arrest, Corby has consistently claimed that the drugs were hidden in her bodyboard bag without her knowledge. Her legal proceedings and sentencing attracted considerable media coverage in Australia.

Corby received a conviction on 27 May 2005 for bringing 4.2 kg (9.3 lb) of cannabis into Bali. The Denpasar District Court sentenced her to two decades in prison at Kerobokan Prison. Her conviction and sentence were upheld by the Indonesian Supreme Court upon appeal. In March 2010, she requested clemency from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, citing mental health issues as a reason. In May 2012, a reduction of five years was granted to her sentence. After serving nine years behind bars, Corby was released on parole on 10 February 2014. As part of her parole terms, she is prohibited from leaving Indonesia until July 2017.
