German biathlete and cross-country skier Miriam Gössner (born 21 June 1990) has achieved notable success in her sports career, including an Olympic silver medal in cross-country skiing and two world championship titles in biathlon, both obtained through team events. Recognized for her speed on the snow, she secured two junior world championship titles in biathlon during 2008 and 2009. Gössner was selected for the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2009, contributing to Germany's cross-country team that earned a silver medal in the 4 × 5 kilometre relay.

During the Vancouver Winter Olympics of 2010, Gössner earned a silver medal as part of the cross-country skiing team competing in the 4 × 5 kilometre relay. She transitioned back to biathlon for the season of 2010–11, achieving three podium finishes during her first full winter on the Biathlon World Cup circuit. At the Biathlon World Championships held in 2011, Gössner claimed gold with her teammates in the women's relay event. The following year saw her successfully defend this title alongside Germany’s team at the women's relay during the world championships of 2012. In December of that same year, she celebrated her first individual victory on the World Cup stage.
