American actress Rene Marie Russo (born February 17, 1954) is also a producer and former model.

Russo started her professional work in the 1970s as a sought-after fashion model, featuring multiple times on the covers of publications such as Vogue and Cosmopolitan. In the late 1980s, she shifted to acting. She became recognized for her roles in numerous high-budget thrillers and action films during the 1990s.

Her film career commenced with a role in the comedy Major League (1989), followed by appearances in Mr. Destiny (1990) and One Good Cop (1991). Throughout the 1990s, she took on leading female roles in successful films including Lethal Weapon 3 (1992), In the Line of Fire (1993), Outbreak (1995), Get Shorty (1995), Tin Cup (1996), Ransom (1996), Lethal Weapon 4 (1998), and The Thomas Crown Affair (1999). After featuring in the family-oriented comedy Yours, Mine and Ours in 2005, she paused her acting career for six years.

Russo portrayed Frigga, mother to the main character, in superhero movies Thor (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013). In 2014, she co-starred in Nightcrawler, a crime thriller that garnered critical acclaim; she was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Additionally, she appeared in The Intern, which premiered on September 25, 2015.
