American sportscaster Samantha Ponder (née Steele), born on December 11, 1985, hails from Phoenix, Arizona. She currently serves as the host for Sunday NFL Countdown on ESPN. Before taking on this role, Ponder was a reporter and host covering college football for ESPN and worked as a sideline reporter for basketball events. She succeeded Erin Andrews as the host of College GameDay Saturdays at 10 AM ET on ESPN and also co-hosted the Saturday edition at 9 AM ET on ESPNU. Beyond her work with College GameDay, Ponder regularly reported from the sidelines for ESPN's Thursday Night College Football alongside Rece Davis, Jesse Palmer, and David Pollack from August 2012 to 2014.
