American drag performer Jaren Kyei Merrell, recognized by the stage name Shea Couleé, was born on February 8, 1989. She is a prominent figure in the nightlife of Chicago and has made a name for herself as a musician. Merrell gained attention after participating in season 9 of RuPaul's Drag Race and later became the champion of season 5 of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. Originally from Warsaw, Indiana, she initiated her drag activities in 2012.

In 2017, she launched her first EP titled Couleé-D along with several music videos to complement it. Following this release, she has pursued further musical endeavors, created her own web series, and undertaken tours across both domestic and international locations including Werq the World, Haters Roast, and A Drag Queen Christmas.
