English author and former fashion model Sophie Dahl (originally named Sophie Holloway; born 15 September 1977) began her writing career with the novella The Man with the Dancing Eyes in 2003, followed by Playing With the Grown-ups in 2008. In 2010, she published a cookbook titled Miss Dahl's Voluptuous Delights, which inspired a six-part series on BBC 2 called The Delicious Miss Dahl.

Hailing from London, Dahl first appeared on the runway during London Fashion Week in Autumn 1997. That same year, she was noticed by stylist Isabella Blow from Vogue magazine. Blow facilitated her introduction to Storm Model Agency in London, where she participated in various modeling campaigns for brands such as Versace, Alexander McQueen, Patrick Cox, DKNY, Boucheron, and Pringle.

Dahl is the child of actor Julian Holloway and writer Tessa Dahl. Her maternal lineage includes children's author Roald Dahl and American actress Patricia Neal. On her father's side, her grandparents are actor Stanley Holloway and former chorus dancer Violet Lane. She served as inspiration for Sophie, the protagonist of her grandfather's book The BFG. She is married to musician Jamie Cullum.
