English singer, songwriter, and model Sophie Michelle Ellis-Bextor (born 10 April 1979) gained attention in the late 1990s as the frontwoman of the indie rock group Theaudience. Following the band's breakup, Ellis-Bextor pursued a solo career and found significant success in the early 2000s. Her musical style incorporates elements of mainstream pop, disco, nu-disco, and influences from 1980s electronic music.

Her first solo album, Read My Lips, debuted in September 2001. It climbed to number two on the UK Albums Chart and achieved double platinum status from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). Her fourth studio project titled Make a Scene came out in April 2011; it reached number 33 on UK charts with its lead single "Bittersweet" peaking at position number 25.

In 2014, she unveiled her fifth studio album Wanderlust which marked her highest chart performance since Read My Lips by reaching number four on UK charts. Alongside this release, its leading single "Young Blood" peaked at number thirty-four.
