German actress Susanne Uhlen, born on January 17, 1955, in Potsdam, Germany, is the daughter of actor Wolfgang Kieling, recognized for voicing "Bert" from the Sesame Street duo Bert and Ernie. Her mother is German actress Gisela Uhlen, and she is also related to Max Schreck, known for his role in Nosferatu.

Uhlen initiated her professional journey in acting with commercial appearances during her childhood and made her film debut at just 9 years old. As a young girl, she frequently switched schools due to her mother's ongoing acting obligations. At the age of 16, she entered into marriage with a classmate; however, this union was short-lived as her mother intervened. Later on, she married cameraman Charly Steinberger and welcomed one son. During this period, Uhlen's acting career began to thrive but ended shortly after their child's birth. In 1981, she began a thirteen-year relationship with actor Herbert Herrmann that resulted in another child. She has appeared in many popular German television shows throughout her career and continues to participate actively in film and theater projects today.
