Austrian actress and model Sybil Danning (born Sybille Johanna Danninger; May 24, 1952) gained recognition for her regular roles in B movies throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

Danning was born in Wels, Austria, and spent a significant part of her early years living on military installations while traveling globally with her family. Following their return to Austria after her parents' separation, she took up work as a dental hygienist to help support her household. At sixteen, she departed from home to move to Salzburg and enrolled in a cosmetology school. As a cosmetician, she quickly began receiving offers for fashion events and photo shoots. Her film career commenced with a role in the German comedy Komm nur, mein liebstes Vögelein (1968), followed by portraying Kriemhild in the adult action film The Long Swift Sword of Siegfried (1971). She continued to land minor roles predominantly associated with her sex symbol persona.

In 1978, Danning relocated to Hollywood to pursue opportunities in American cinema. Her initial role came in Roger Corman's cult science fiction film Battle Beyond the Stars (1980), which positioned her within the B movie genre. Throughout the 1980s, she featured in various films including Chained Heat (1983), Hercules (1983), Malibu Express (1985), Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf (1985), and Reform School Girls (1986). In 1990, an accident during stunt rehearsals caused an interruption in her acting career due to spinal disc issues that necessitated time away from filmmaking.
