Croatian pop and jazz singer Vesna Pisarović (born 9 April 1978) initially gained popularity as one of the leading female vocalists in the countries of former Yugoslavia before transitioning to a career as a jazz artist in Berlin, Germany.

Pisarović was born in Brčko, Bosnia-Herzegovina, within Yugoslavia and spent her early years in Požega, Croatia, where she lived until the age of 13. She attended a music school from a young age, focusing on flute performance, choir singing, and participating in various musical competitions.

In the mid-1990s, she relocated to Zagreb, Croatia, completing her studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. During this time, she began performing at clubs and composing original songs. In 1997, while taking part in the Croatian festival Zadarfest, she met Milana Vlaović who began crafting songs for her.

In 2002 Vesna Pisarović secured victory at the annual Dora festival which selects Croatia's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest. Her entry "Everything I Want" achieved an 11th place finish at Eurovision Song Contest 2002. Additionally, she penned "In the Disco," which represented Bosnia and Herzegovina during Eurovision Song Contest 2004.
