British media personality Carol Vorderman MBE RAFVR(T) (born 24 December 1960) is recognized for her role as co-host on the game show Countdown, where she worked for 26 years from 1982 to 2008.

Vorderman started her professional work in 1982 when she became part of Channel 4's Countdown. Her most recent co-hosting partner was Des O'Connor; prior collaborations included Des Lynam and Richard Whiteley from the show's inception until Whiteley's passing in 2005. She departed from the program in 2008, with Rachel Riley taking over her position. During her tenure on Countdown, Vorderman also began hosting additional programs across various networks, including Better Homes and The Pride of Britain Awards on ITV, along with guest appearances on shows like Have I Got News for You, The Sunday Night Project, and Lorraine.
