She was the frontwoman for the rock group Hey Monday, which has been inactive since December 2011. During her time with the band, they produced two full-length albums and three extended plays. In early 2012, Pope transitioned to a solo career and launched her EP titled Cassadee Pope in May of that year. She participated in the third season of The Voice and made history by becoming the first female champion on December 18, 2012. Her inaugural solo country album, Frame by Frame, was released on October 8, 2013, achieving a position within the top ten of the Billboard 200 chart.
