English singer, songwriter, rapper, and model Cher Lloyd (born 28 July 1993) gained prominence in 2010 after securing fourth place in the seventh season of The X Factor. After the finale of that season, she was signed by Syco Music.

Lloyd's first single, "Swagger Jagger," debuted in July 2011, entering at number one on the UK Singles Chart and reaching number two in Ireland. Her follow-up track, "With Ur Love," released on 31 October 2011 featuring Mike Posner, reached number four on the UK Singles Chart and number five in Ireland. This preceded her initial album, Sticks and Stones (2011), which peaked at number four on the UK Albums Chart and reached number seven in Ireland. In 2014, Lloyd launched her second album titled Sorry I'm Late. Although it received favorable reviews, it did not replicate the commercial success of her first release, peaking at position twenty-one on the UK Albums Chart. Despite lower chart performance compared to Sticks and Stones—selling approximately 41,000 copies against its predecessor's 31,000—Sorry I'm Late still achieved notable sales figures. Additionally, Lloyd expanded her career by signing with US label Epic Records in 2012.
