American singer Ciara Princess Wilson (née Harris; born October 25, 1985) is also a songwriter, record producer, dancer, actress, and fashion model. Originating from Austin, Texas, she spent her childhood traveling globally before settling in Atlanta, Georgia. There, she became a member of the girl group Hearsay (distinct from the British ensemble Hear'Say), but the collective disbanded due to internal disagreements. During this period, Ciara gained attention for her songwriting abilities. In 2002, she connected with music producer Jazze Pha and subsequently secured a recording contract with LaFace Records.

In 2004, Ciara introduced her first studio album Goodies which featured three successful singles: "Goodies," "1, 2 Step," and "Oh." In 2011 she entered into an agreement with Epic Records and released her self-titled fifth album Ciara in 2013 featuring the R&B/Hip-Hop top-ten single “Body Party.” In 2015, she launched her sixth album Jackie containing tracks like “I Bet” and “Dance Like We’re Making Love,” debuting at number 17 on Billboard’s chart with first-week sales reaching only 19,000 copies—her lowest yet.

Transitioning into acting since making her film debut in All You've Got (2006), Ciara has appeared in Mama I Want to Sing! (2012) alongside That's My Boy (2012). She also played a recurring part in the US television series The Game starting in 2013. Since initiating her music career in 2004,Ciara has recorded eight top-ten hits on Billboard Hot 100 including one that peaked at number one position. She has accumulated various awards throughout her career comprising three BET Awards ,three MTV Video Music Awards ,three MOBO Awards along with one Grammy Award .
