British actress Freema Agyeman (born Frema Agyeman; Persian: ЩЃШ±ЫЊЩ…Ш§ اگیمن‎‎; 20 March 1979) is recognized for her role as Martha Jones in the BBC's science fiction series Doctor Who and its associated spin-off Torchwood. After leaving Doctor Who and appearing in guest roles on the BBC show Little Dorrit, Agyeman took on a leading part as Alesha Phillips in the crime drama Law & Order: UK from 2009 to 2012. In 2013, she made her debut in US television with The CW’s teen drama The Carrie Diaries, portraying Larissa Loughlin, a fashion editor at Interview magazine. Additional television credits include Old Jack's Boat, Silent Witness, Survivors, and the Netflix series Sense8. She also played Penny in the film North v South released in 2015.
