French-German actress and artist Julia Thurnau, born on May 21, 1974, spent her early years in a village near Cannes before relocating to Munich. There, she pursued acting studies at Schauspielstudio München followed by training at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art in Berlin.

Her film debut occurred in 1995 with After Five in the Forest Primeval alongside Franka Potente. Since then, she has taken on prominent roles in over 20 films and television productions from France and Germany, including Der Weibsteufel (2000) directed by Jo Baier and D'Artagnan et les trois mousquetaires (2005) helmed by Pierre Aknine. She made her directorial debut with the short Ondinas (2003) and is also engaged in visual arts.
