American singer, songwriter, actress, and television host Kelendria Trene "Kelly" Rowland (born February 11, 1981) gained recognition in the late 1990s as part of Destiny's Child, a highly successful girl group. During their break from performing together, Rowland released her first solo album Simply Deep (2002), which achieved global sales of 2.5 million copies and featured the number-one track "Dilemma" alongside Nelly, along with the international top-ten single "Stole." She also ventured into acting with guest roles in various sitcoms and lead appearances in Freddy vs. Jason (2003) and The Seat Filler (2005).

After Destiny's Child disbanded in 2005, she launched her second studio album Ms. Kelly (2007), which produced hits such as "Like This" and "Work." In 2009, Rowland took on hosting duties for the inaugural season of The Fashion Show and collaborated with David Guetta on his chart-topping dance track "When Love Takes Over." The success of this song motivated her to delve into dance music for her third album Here I Am (2011), which included the international hit "Commander" and topped US R&B/Hip-Hop charts with "Motivation." In 2011, she returned to television as a judge on The X Factor UK’s eighth season before serving as a judge on the final season of The X Factor USA in 2013. Her fourth album Talk a Good Game (2013) marked a return to her R&B influences and received favorable critiques.

Over her two-decade career, Rowland has sold more than 27 million records as an individual artist while contributing to over 60 million records sold with Destiny's Child. She has been nominated for various awards throughout her career including four Grammy Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, and two Soul Train Music Awards. Additionally, she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame alongside Destiny's Child; independently she has been recognized by organizations like the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers and Essence for her musical contributions. In 2014, Fuse placed Rowland at number 20 on their list of “100 Most Award-Winning Artists.”

Currently, she co-hosts BET’s Chasing Destiny alongside Frank Gatson Jr., where they formed a girl group called June's Diary.
