Italian actress Mariangela Melato (September 19, 1941 – January 11, 2013) was known for her work in film and theater. She initiated her theatrical journey in the 1960s. Her cinematic debut occurred in Thomas e gli indemoniati (1969), under the direction of Pupi Avati. Throughout the 1970s, she appeared in a variety of influential films that marked what many consider her peak period, earning acclaim for performances in titles such as Between Miracles (1971), The Seduction of Mimi (1972), Love and Anarchy (1973), Nada (1974), Todo modo (1976), and Il gatto (1978). Melato also participated in numerous American film projects. She passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 71.
