American actress and author Mariel Hadley Hemingway (born November 22, 1961) commenced her acting career at the age of 14 with a breakout performance in Lipstick (1976), which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. Hemingway is recognized for her prominent performances in Personal Best (1982) and Star 80 (1983), as well as her participation in the television series Civil Wars, where she was nominated for a Golden Globe.
