Slovenian-American model Melania Trump is the spouse of Donald Trump, who serves as the president of the United States. She was born on April 26, 1970, in Novo Mesto, Yugoslavia, under the name Melanija Knavs. Melania Trump is one of only two first ladies not originally from the United States.

Her upbringing took place in Sevnica, now located in Slovenia. At seventeen, she was discovered by photographer Stane Jerko and began her modeling career. She left her academic pursuits in Ljubljana to relocate to Berlin. Following her time modeling across various European cities such as Paris and London, she eventually settled in New York.

Melania Trump met Donald Trump at a party in September 1998; they married a year later and welcomed their son Barron in 2006. Prior to meeting Donald Trump, Melania participated in several nude photo shoots for various publications and also posed topless.
