Flemish vocalist Sandy Boets, known by her stage name Xandee (born 18 December 1978 in Tienen), represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004. At just 16 years old, she co-founded the pop group Touch of Joy alongside Serge Quisquater. Sergio and his ensemble Sergio & The Ladies participated for Belgium in ESC 2002 with their entry "Sister".

During the Eurovision Song Contest held in Istanbul in 2004, Xandee performed the upbeat dance track "1 Life." This song was considered one of the frontrunners prior to the event but ultimately received only 7 points on the final night, with five points coming from neighboring Netherlands, finishing in 22nd place out of a total of 24 entries.

Xandee's experience mirrored that of fellow Belgian artist Kate Ryan two years later at Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens; despite being highly anticipated as a favorite, she did not advance past the semi-finals.
