Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah Ann McLachlan, OC, OBC (born January 28, 1968), is a musician and pianist. Recognized for her heartfelt ballads and mezzo-soprano vocal abilities, she has sold over 40 million albums globally as of 2009. Her most commercially successful album is Surfacing, which earned her two Grammy Awards from four nominations and four Juno Awards. Alongside her musical projects, she established the Lilith Fair tour to promote female artists on an unprecedented level.
