American actress Selma Blair Beitner, born on June 23, 1972, is recognized for her work in film, television, and theater. Blair commenced her acting journey in 1995. In the early stages of her career, she took on numerous supporting roles across various media before gaining attention for her lead performance in the noir film Brown's Requiem released in 1998.

Blair experienced a significant career advancement in 1999; initially through her leading part in The WB teen sitcom Zoe and subsequently with a starring role in the adolescent drama Cruel Intentions. Following this success, she appeared in several films such as Down to You (2000), Legally Blonde (2001), and The Sweetest Thing (2002).
