American actress Shalita Grant (born August 28, 1988) is known for her role as NCIS Agent Sonja Percy on NCIS: New Orleans and as Aurelia Johnson in Mercy Street, a character depicted as a stoic "contraband" or escaped slave.

Raised in Petersburg, Virginia, Grant completed her secondary education at the Baltimore School for the Arts in Maryland. There, she was recognized as a YoungArts Winner in Theater and named a Presidential Scholar in the Arts. At age 17, she earned a scholarship to the Juilliard School for her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Drama, graduating in 2010.

In 2013, Grant received a nomination for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play due to her portrayal of Cassandra in the comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. This production won both the Tony Award for Best Play and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play. She also obtained the Theatre World Award for Outstanding Broadway Debut that same year. Her other theatrical performances include roles in The Philanderer with The Pearl Theatre Company and productions at The Public Theater such as Measure for Measure, The Winter's Tale, and The Merchant of Venice.

After her nomination at the Tonys, she relocated to Los Angeles to focus on television acting. During this period, she recalls auditioning 54 times within one year across various projects while facing financial challenges; at one point she briefly worked as a bartender before securing guest appearances on shows like The Good Wife, Battle Creek, Bones, and Melissa & Joey prior to becoming a series regular on NCIS: New Orleans.

Her film work includes short films such as Empire Corner (2010), Invisible (2010), along with participation in the Oscar-nominated documentary Rehearsing a Dream (2006).
