American actress Soleil Moon Frye (born August 6, 1976) is also a director and screenwriter. She started her professional work as a child performer at the age of two. At seven, Frye was cast as Penelope "Punky" Brewster in the sitcom Punky Brewster. The show premiered on NBC in September 1984 and had low ratings; however, the character of Punky resonated with young audiences. Following its cancellation by NBC, the series found new life in syndication for an additional two seasons until it concluded in 1988.

Following the end of Punky Brewster, Frye pursued guest appearances on various television shows and took on supporting roles in films. In the late 1990s, she studied at The New School and made her directorial debut with Wild Horses in 1998. In 2000, she became part of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch's cast as Roxie King, roommate to Sabrina Spellman (portrayed by Melissa Joan Hart). Frye stayed with this series until its conclusion in April 2003. She has continued to work primarily as a voice artist since then and voiced Aseefa in Planet Sheen.

In 1998, Frye married producer Jason Goldberg; together they have four children. She founded an organic specialty children's clothing store called The Little Seed located in Los Angeles. Additionally, she manages a blog and web series that address parenting topics and women's issues. In 2011, she published her first book titled Happy Chaos: From Punky to Parenting and My Perfectly Imperfect Adventures in Between. Currently, Frye hosts Home Made Simple on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
