American singer, songwriter, and occasional actress Stacie Joy Orrico (born March 3, 1986) began her career in 1998 when she joined ForeFront Records at the age of 12. She released her debut album, Genuine (2000), which achieved sales of 13,000 copies during its opening week.

Following her initial release, she transitioned to Virgin Records and worked on her self-titled album Stacie Orrico (2003). This album entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 59 and was certified gold with over 500,000 units sold in the United States. The lead single "Stuck" peaked at No. 52 on the Billboard Hot 100 but found greater popularity internationally. Her subsequent single "(There's Gotta Be) More to Life" debuted at No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100. The self-titled project has accumulated worldwide sales exceeding 3.5 million copies. Additionally, that same year marked her acting debut with two episodes on American Dreams.

In 2005, after seven years with ForeFront Records, she parted ways with the label to focus more intently on her music career and began crafting her third studio album, Beautiful Awakening (2006). The first track "I'm Not Missing You" was launched in August of that year. The second release from this album was "So Simple," although it did not achieve any chart success in the US.
