French actress and former beauty queen Mareva Galanter was born on 4 February 1979 in Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia.

Galanter claimed the title of "Miss World Islands" in 1998 and subsequently won the "Miss Tahiti" pageant that year, allowing her to compete for Miss France 1999, which she ultimately won. She also participated in Miss Universe 1999 but did not place.

Galanter began her modeling career at a young age, engaging in photoshoots across French Polynesia before reaching 16 years old (notably with Dominique Petras in Bora Bora). She continued her modeling journey in Europe while preparing for the "Miss France" competition. Additionally, she modeled for Jean Charles de Castelbajac, a designer based in Paris.

Expanding into music and singing, Galanter released an album titled Ukuyéyé through Warner Music in 2006.

She has produced music videos for seven of her tracks. Furthermore, she hosted a French television show called Do you Do you scopitone on the Paris Première channel that focused on scopitones from the '60s and '70s; this format is considered a precursor to modern music videos.

Throughout her career, she has appeared in various feature films such as 3 Zéros, Les Gaous, The Pink Panther, and Tu Devais Faire du Cinéma.

In collaboration with English band Little Barrie, Galanter recorded her second album Happy Fiu in 2008. Her work includes collaborations with singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright and Martin Duffy from Primal Scream. Many of her lyrics were supported by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. She toured extensively across France and Europe during this time.

In 2010, Galanter became part of Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux's Nouvelle Vague project as a touring singer. According to updates on her Twitter account, she has laid down some tracks for an upcoming Nouvelle Vague release.

In 2011 she traveled to Detroit to collaborate with producer Jim Diamond at Ghetto Recorders studio where she recorded seven new songs including Western Love; a video for this track can be found on Vimeo.com.

Galanter has Russian, Polish and Romanian ancestry through her father and Tahitian heritage from her mother.
