American actress and singer Megan Mullally (born November 12, 1958) started her career in theater in Chicago before relocating to Los Angeles in 1985, where she began taking on supporting parts in film and television. Her Broadway debut occurred in the production of Grease in 1994, after which she appeared in various Broadway musicals. Mullally is recognized for her portrayal of Karen Walker, a wealthy and alcoholic socialite, on the TV sitcom Will & Grace from 1998 to 2006, which won an Emmy Award. She hosted the brief talk show The Megan Mullally Show from 2006 until early 2007. In 2009, she played Rosemary on the short-lived ABC sitcom In the Motherhood. Additionally, she has made guest appearances on numerous television series including Parks and Recreation, Happy Endings, 30 Rock, Up All Night, Boston Legal, and a GLAAD Award-winning episode of The New Adventures of Old Christine. In 2010, Mullally portrayed Lydia during the second season of Party Down. She also co-starred as Chief on Adult Swim's Emmy-winning Childrens Hospital and had recurring roles as Tammy Swanson on NBC's Parks and Recreation (playing her real-life husband Nick Offerman's ex-wife), Dana Hartz on ABC's Happy Endings, and Aunt Gayle on FOX's animated series Bob's Burgers.
Mullally received seven consecutive nominations for an Emmy Award for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series" for her performance on Will & Grace—winning twice—in both 2000 and 2006—resulting in more nominations as well as wins than any other character featured on that program. Furthermore, she achieved seven consecutive nominations for Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series with three wins between 2001 to 2003; additionally being nominated four times for Golden Globe awards related to the same role.
