Australian-American actress Melissa Suzanne George (born August 6, 1976) is known for her diverse roles in film and television. Previously a national rollerskating champion and model in Australia, George started her professional work portraying Angel Parrish on the Australian soap opera Home and Away from 1993 to 1996. After relocating to the United States, she made her cinematic debut in the neo-noir science fiction movie Dark City (1998) and subsequently took on supporting parts in Steven Soderbergh's crime drama The Limey (1999) and David Lynch's Mulholland Drive (2001).

In addition to films, she featured in various television series including Friends (2003), Alias (2003–04), In Treatment (2008), Grey's Anatomy (2008–09), and Lie to Me (2010), where she received a nomination for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress – Series, Miniseries or Television Film due to her performance in In Treatment. Transitioning into lead roles by 2005, George portrayed Kathy Lutz in the remake of The Amityville Horror (2005), followed by performances in the thriller Turistas (2006) and the vampire horror film 30 Days of Night (2007). Her leading role in Triangle (2009) was well-received.

Her later projects include the thriller A Lonely Place to Die (2011), the Australian drama series The Slap (2011)—for which she won a Logie Award for Most Outstanding Actress—the British-American spy drama Hunted (2012), as well as appearances on the legal drama series The Good Wife (2013–14). In 2015, George reprised her role as Rosie in the American adaptation of The Slap after initially portraying it in its Australian counterpart. She also starred as the main character in Heartbeat, an American medical drama series that aired in 2016.
