American actress, producer, and designer Sarah Jessica Parker (born March 25, 1965) is recognized for her prominent role as Carrie Bradshaw in the HBO series Sex and the City (1998–2004). She received two Emmy Awards for her work on this series: one for Outstanding Comedy Series as a producer in 2001 and another for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2004. Additionally, she was awarded four Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Series and three Screen Actors Guild Awards. Parker reprised her character in the films Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City 2 (2010).

Parker began her career on Broadway at age 11 with the revival of The Innocents in 1976, later taking on the lead role in the Broadway musical Annie in 1979. Her film credits include appearances in Footloose (1984), Firstborn (1984), alongside returning to Broadway with The Heidi Chronicles (1989). Other notable films feature L.A. Story (1991), Honeymoon in Vegas (1992), Hocus Pocus (1993), Ed Wood (1994), The First Wives Club (1996), The Family Stone (2005), and Failure to Launch (2006).

In 2012, Parker returned to television after Sex and the City with a recurring part as Vogue.com editor Isabelle Wright on FOX's musical comedy Glee. She is also expected to star in the upcoming HBO series Divorce set to air in 2016.
