American singer-songwriter, dancer, model, and actress Teairra Marí (originally Teairra Marí Thomas; born December 2, 1987) began her professional journey when she was signed by Jay Z to Def Jam at the age of 17. She released her debut album titled Roc-A-Fella Records Presents Teairra Marí. Following underwhelming sales figures, her recording contract was terminated during the development of her second album entitled Second Round. In 2008, she made a comeback in the music industry with the single "Hunt 4 U," featuring Pleasure P. After numerous leaks affected her work, she had to re-record and rename what became her second album At That Point.
