American rapper Brooke Dyan Candy (born July 20, 1989) is also a singer, stylist, and former exotic dancer. Growing up in the Los Angeles suburbs, Candy began her career as an exotic dancer in her early twenties. She featured in Grimes' music video for "Genesis" (2012), which became widely popular. The video was recognized for Candy's distinctive appearance that included long pink cornrows and metallic outfits resembling armor. This exposure helped elevate her presence in the underground music scene as she started to produce her own tracks, releasing "Das Me" in 2012 along with "Everybody Does" and "I Wanna Fuck Right Now" in 2013. In early 2014, she signed with RCA Records and launched her first major label single titled "Opulence," accompanied by an EP of the same name on May 6, 2014.
