German actress Dagmar Manzel (born September 1, 1958) has featured in over 50 films and television productions since her career began in 1983. She performed in the film So Many Dreams in 1986, which was submitted to the 37th Berlin International Film Festival.

She is the offspring of educators Paul and Anne Marie Manzel. Following her secondary education, she pursued studies at the Academy of Dramatic Arts "Ernst Busch" Berlin. Graduating in 1980, she made her stage debut at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin in 1983, which became a central venue for her artistic endeavors. From that year until 2001, she served as a resident performer there under directors like Thomas Langhoff, Heiner Müller, and Thomas Schulte-Michels.

Alongside her screen performances, she also took part in numerous musical theater productions. In 2002, she portrayed the title character in Thomas Schulte-Michels’ adaptation of Jacques Offenbach's operetta La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein at Deutsches Theater Berlin and later starred as the lead in his rendition of Offenbach's La Périchole at Berliner Ensemble in 2008.

In fall 2004, Dagmar Manzel played the female lead role during the acclaimed German premiere of Stephen Sondheim's musical Sweeney Todd at Komische Oper Berlin under director Christopher Bond.

In 2012, Manzel received recognition with a German Film Prize for her supporting performance in Christian Schwochow’s drama The Invisible.

That same year saw her on stage again at Komische Oper Berlin for Seven Songs/The Seven Deadly Sins.

Since 1994, she has held membership within the Academy of Arts located in Berlin.

Her daughter Klara Manzel is also involved in acting.
