Slovak tennis player Daniela Hantuchová (pronounced [ˈdaɲiela ˈɦantuxoʋaː]; born 23 April 1983) began her professional career in 1999. Her significant breakthrough occurred in 2002 when she secured her inaugural WTA title at the Indian Wells Masters, overcoming Martina Hingis in the final and achieving the status of the lowest-ranked athlete to win that tournament. Additionally, she reached the quarterfinals at both Wimbledon and the US Open that same year, concluding it ranked within the top ten players globally. Hantuchová was part of Slovakia's victorious team at both the Fed Cup in 2002 and Hopman Cup in 2005.

In January 2003, Hantuchová attained her peak ranking of fifth after advancing to the quarterfinals during the Australian Open. Over her career, she has claimed seven more WTA titles, including a second triumph at Indian Wells in 2007 and her latest victory at the Thailand Open in 2015. In addition, she reached semifinals at the Australian Open back in 2008, marking her deepest run in a Grand Slam event. She stands as Slovakia's most accomplished tennis player historically and became only the 37th woman during the Open Era to achieve over 500 match wins following her victory against Laura Robson during round two of Aegon Classic held in June 2013.

Hantuchová also excels as a doubles competitor. In mixed doubles competition, she completed a career Grand Slam by winning all four major tournaments; this achievement made her one of just five female players to accomplish such a feat. She captured mixed doubles titles with Leoš Friedl at Wimbledon (2001), Kevin Ullyett at Australian Open (2002), Fabrice Santoro at French Open (2005), and Mahesh Bhupathi at US Open (2005). Furthermore, she was a finalist for mixed doubles alongside Ullyett again at Wimbledon (2002) and competed for women's doubles finals with Arantxa Sánchez Vicario during Australian Open (2002), Ai Sugiyama during French Open (2006), along with Sugiyama once more for another final appearance during Australian Open (2009).

Since December 2014, Carlos Rodríguez has been serving as Hantuchová's coach. Martina Navratilova acted as her mentor through WTA’s "Partners for Success" initiative while also briefly partnering with Hantuchová in doubles early on in their careers together around mid-2005.
