American singer-songwriter and actress Deborah Ann "Debbie" Gibson (born August 31, 1970) is also a record producer. Gibson made her entry into the music scene with her first album Out of the Blue in 1987, which featured multiple international chart-toppers and achieved triple Platinum certification from the RIAA. Among these tracks, "Foolish Beat" positioned Gibson as the youngest female artist to compose, produce, and perform a number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100. Her second album Electric Youth (1989), which earned double-Platinum status, included another U.S. number-one hit titled "Lost In Your Eyes." She has written all of her singles that entered the Top 20 of the Hot 100 charts. In 1989, ASCAP acknowledged her talent by naming her Songwriter of the Year alongside Bruce Springsteen. In 2006, Gibson's collaboration with Jordan Knight on "Say Goodbye" reached No. 24 on the U.S. adult contemporary chart.
